EXYRA: Digital eye strain glasses protecting you from harmful blue light

.

.

Prone to headaches, blurred vision or burning eyes? It’s probably exposure to harmful blue light. It’s no secret our lives are governed by digital devices, but you don’t have to suffer any longer.

Here is where blue light filter technology comes to the rescue. EXYRA has designed UV and blue light filtering eyewear to give you a stylish solution to digital eye strain.

But first, what is blue light?

What is blue light?

Blue light is all around us from the sun, fluorescent lights and generated from LED screens emitted from smartphones, computer screens, tablets and televisions. Blue light sits on the light spectrum between UV and visible light. Its detrimental effects range from dry eyes, eye fatigue, blurred vision, headaches, neck and back pain. Prolonged exposure to artificial blue light perforates the retina adding strain to the muscle which helps the eye to focus.

What is
blue light filter for glasses?

EXYRA eyewear uses photochromic dye to absorb and shield damaging blue light from reaching the retina; allowing you to receive the full-colour spectrum, leaving your vision clear and unrestrained.

I’ve experienced first-hand the benefits EXYRA provides from reduced eye fatigue, glare and improved sleep quality. EXYRA enables me to stay online longer to reach deadlines well into the night — minus the eye naps.

Not once have I grabbed eye drops to ease sore eyes when wearing my EXYRA glasses. When it comes to my long-term digital health, EXYRA works towards preventing age-related macular degeneration.

100% UV A/B protection

The other day I forgot my sunglasses on my way to an appointment in Bondi. After my meeting, I took a stroll on the Esplanade and removed my Allirea frames. I immediately put them back on; the glare from the sun was blinding. Surprisingly, my lenses gave me instant relief. Not only, are they designed with an anti-scratch and anti-reflective coating, but EXYRA offers 100% UV A/B protection. I extended my afternoon in Bondi walking to Coogee Beach confident my eyewear could withstand the elements.

Aboriginal Culture

Those close to me know, I am a proud Wadjanbarra Yidinji and Jirrbal woman who is passionate about products promoting my culture.

A brand that takes time to acknowledge Aboriginal culture gets my tick of approval. EXYRAs’ stylish frames pay tribute to popular Aboriginal names (Allirea and Kirra) and Australian locations (Sydney, Byron and Yarra), along with a variety of other styles.

I selected the Allirea frames for its translucent and elegant finish, and to match my treasured clear quartz earrings I sport religiously. I was amazed to discover Allirea (Alira/Allira/Allyra) means ‘quartz’ clear crystal in the local Aboriginal language of the Melbourne area. Quartz is traditionally sourced to make arrowheads for hunting. Allira also means ‘niece’ used by the Arrernte people of Alice Springs; a prominent name with significant meaning throughout many Aboriginal communities.

Kirra is another widely favoured Aboriginal name that translates to ‘leaf’ or ‘dancing leaf’ in the Yugambeh language, the traditional custodians of the Gold Coast, Queensland. Other translations include ‘to live’, ‘boomerang’ and ‘beautiful woman’ in dialects from the QLD and NSW regions.

I contacted the EXYRA team suggesting they donate a portion of their proceeds to one of these communities. Ascension is committed to encouraging brands to share First Nations culture respectfully and ethically which benefits both parties.

“If this place is lost, I’m lost, and so is everybody else. We’ll be lost forever. Forgetting those traditional songlines, forgetting traditional languages and ceremonies. If all of that was lost, I would feel so lost myself. I’d feel like my mother worked her butt off for nothing.” Noni Eather.
